The muzzle nut will protect the thread of the G43 rifle.
Some G43 rifles have a threaded barrel so they can accept a blank firing device.
In most cases the G43's with a threaded barrel also have a spring loaded notch that will slip into one of the 4 notches of the muzzle nut and keeps it from unscrewing and falling off.
